Flea, the legendary bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, has announced a career milestone with the release of his first solo album titled Honora, which will arrive on platforms on March 27, 2026, via Nonesuch Records. The project marks a drastic turn towards his musical roots in jazz and represents a personal exploration of his journey beyond rock, integrating elements of improvisation, experimentation, and contemporary sound.

The album takes its name from a beloved member of Flea's family and was composed, arranged, and recorded by him, who not only plays the bass but also the trumpet, the instrument with which he began his musical career when he was young.

Honora includes ten tracks that blend original compositions with reinterpretations of songs by artists such as George Clinton, Frank Ocean, Jimmy Webb, and Ann Ronell, showcasing the breadth of influences that have accompanied Flea throughout his life. The album features top-tier musicians, including producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks, among others.

Two of the album's most notable collaborations are with Thom Yorke, vocalist of Radiohead, and Nick Cave. The recently released single Traffic Lights was co-written with Yorke, who also contributes vocals, piano, and synthesizer to the song, accompanied by an animated visual piece directed by nespy5euro.

But this project is not only noteworthy for its collaborations, but also for the way Flea has returned to the industry exploring his love for jazz and hinting at his artistic versatility. Before Honora, he had already released a single called A Plea at the end of 2025, where he already showed signs of this introspective and jazzy facet.

To accompany the album's release, Flea has scheduled an international tour that will begin in May 2026, with performances in cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe, including stops in Chicago, Toronto, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris, among others.

Throughout his career with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea has been recognized as one of the most influential bassists of his generation and has accumulated numerous awards and certifications. With the band, he has won six Grammy Awards, including accolades for Album of the Year and Best Live Rock Performance. With Honora, Flea not only expands his legacy in the rock world but also highlights a personal project that brings together experience, experimentation, and admiration for other great professionals in the field.
