The PP has demanded urgent explanations from Adif this Tuesday after the entity decided to temporarily limit the maximum speed to 160 kilometers per hour on a section of the high-speed line connecting Madrid and Barcelona, a measure adopted after warnings from train drivers about the existence of potholes at a specific point on the route, as we have been reporting on 'ElConstitucional.es'.
From the public company responsible for the railway infrastructure, they have indicated that the restriction will only be in effect during Tuesday. As they have explained, the affected section will be reviewed during the night by the maintenance team and, if no problems are detected, the limitation will be removed.
In this context, the deputy secretary of Finance for the PP, Juan Bravo, has stated that "a decision of this magnitude" like the one adopted by Adif, and "in the current context," requires "immediate clarification."

The PP leader has also linked this news to the announcement made months ago by the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, about future actions to increase the speed on the Madrid-Barcelona line to 350 kilometers per hour, which would reduce travel time to less than two hours. "Citizens must have explanations and decisions that are consistent with a measure that is totally contradictory to what was announced months ago. This cannot wait," Bravo stated in a message published on the social network X
Likewise, the deputy spokesperson for the PP in Congress, **Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo**, has intensified her criticism of the railway company's actions. "They turned the Ministry of Transport, first, into a den of bribes, scams, and corruption. And, afterwards, into an instrument of insult, targeting, and polarization," she also stated on social media.
