The singer Leire Martínez opened this Sunday her tour Historias de aquella niña with a concert with sold-out tickets at Sala La Riviera in Madrid, marking the beginning of her solo stage after her departure from La Oreja de Van Gogh.
During the show, which combined songs from her new album with some of her group's classics, Leire sent a firm message to the press: “Today, here and now, I call God as my witness that I will not answer a single question about La Oreja de Van Gogh again”, she explained to an enthusiastic audience. Her decision seeks to prevent sensationalist headlines from distorting her artistic present or news that misrepresents her words, something that, she assured, she would neither sign nor endorse.

The tour kick-off was also marked by an emotional moment in honor of a train driver who died in recent railway accidents, who had tickets for the concert and whose partner and family were present. Leire dedicated some words and music in his memory, provoking a deep ovation. In addition, the artist surprised her fans with the presence of other artists such as Edurne, who joined her to perform I'm not good at hating you, and Andrés Suárez, who accompanied the singer in Look at me.
With this step, the artist bets on this new stage focused on her own music, trying to disassociate herself from what was her group, La Oreja de Van Gogh, and betting on a stage defined by her own compositions and musical vision.
