RTVE's La 1 has announced the premiere of Top Chef: Dulces y Famosos, a new baking competition with popular faces, which will arrive on the schedule on Sunday, February 15th at 10:00 PM and can be watched both on television and on RTVE Play. The program replaces, for the moment, one of the channel's most secure slots: La película de la semana, which has historically led its time slot with ratings that usually exceed 11%.
The format, presented by Paula Vázquez, will test 16 celebrities in pastry challenges, where they will have to demonstrate their creativity and technique to win the title of first Top Chef pastry chef in Spain and a prize of 100,000 euros which will be donated to the NGO chosen by the winner.
The jury will be made up of chef Paco Roncero, pastry chef Eva Arguiñano and pastry chef Osvaldo Gross, who will evaluate flavor, presentation, and mastery of techniques in each test. RTVE's bet replaces the traditional Sunday movie night with a new culinary entertainment space.
Among the confirmed names that will compete are figures such as Belén Esteban, Luis Merlo, Marina Castaño, Roi Méndez or Samantha Ballentines, among others. The premiere of the program opens a new stage for the gastronomic competitions of the public network, which seeks to attract the audience with a fresh and dynamic format in Sunday prime time.
