Actress Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos have once again joined their creative forces for a very special project: a commercial for Squarespace that will be broadcast during Super Bowl LX, the most watched advertising event of the year.
Titled “Unavailable”, the advertisement maintains Lanthimos' distinctive aesthetic and is shot in black and white, with a staging reminiscent of film noir. In it, Stone plays a dramatic version of herself as she tries to register her own web domain unsuccessfully, which triggers a story loaded with visual tension and characteristic humor.
This spot marks Squarespace's twelfth Super Bowl campaign and represents Stone's first foray into a Super Bowl ad, as well as another collaboration with Lanthimos outside of traditional filmmaking.
In addition to Unavailable, the campaign will include additional pieces —such as a narrative short and thematic messages— that expand the story around digital identity and the urgency of claiming your space online. This launch stands out for its cinematic tone and the way it unites narrative creativity with mass advertising, showing how top-tier artists transfer their language from cinema to one of the most important media platforms of the year.
