RTVE has reached an agreement with the unions UGT, SI, and USO to promote the internal production of content and begin the process of transforming its Territorial Centers of Andalusia and the Valencian Community into expanded production centers. The pact was signed this Monday by the president of RTVE, José Pablo López, along with the union representatives present in the corporation.

The objective of the agreement is to reinforce RTVE's territorial structure and advance in the “internalization of part of the magazines”, as explained by López, who considers this step “very important” and hopes to be able to present concrete results to the staff before June 30.

Union representatives have positively assessed the agreement, arguing that greater internal in-house production — both informational and local programming — responds to a historic demand from territorial centers and strengthens the public service model of the state broadcaster.

The agreement contemplates several lines of action, among them:

  • Strengthen the capacity to produce territorial news bulletins even on weekends and holidays, as well as specials according to current events.

  • Technically equip the centers to allow territorial disconnections on La 2 and explore new formats of content close to each community.

  • Study the production of their own afternoon magazines once technical and organizational viability is ensured.

The transformation of these centers is part of a broader strategy of strengthening the corporation's own production, which has already advanced in the technical internalization of news segments and spaces in recent months. Likewise, the agreement places special emphasis on adapting the workforce through reorganizations, reinforcements, and joint professional training plans between RTVE and its union representation.

The implementation of these measures will be carried out gradually and evaluated periodically, with a first phase planned to begin before July 1, 2026, provided that the technical and human requirements necessary for its execution are met.
