The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, lashed out this Wednesday at Santiago Abascal during his speech in Congress, explicitly alluding to the monthly salary of his main advisor, Kiko Méndez-Monasterio: 26,700 euros. Sánchez added ironically: "These Torquemadas are, really...", in reference to the harshness with which Abascal usually criticizes other politicians
Sánchez called to call Abascal up to five times, who kept his gaze averted. “It must be very important,” the president has ironized before insisting: “Just as you ask for transparency, I ask for transparency,” questioning the remuneration of the officials close to the Vox leader
"If his main advisor charges 26,700 euros a month, how much does the advised person charge? Come up here and say how much you charge. Truly, Mr. Abascal, because 26,700 euros a month is not the Spain that wakes up early”. This is how forcefully the President of the Government referred to the leader of Vox, to applause in Congress.
In the rest of his interventions, Sánchez has also tried to counter Abascal's hoaxes, such as the allusions to the increase in irregular arrivals. Sánchez stressed that “no one is superfluous in Spain, Mr. Abascal, if anything is superfluous it is your hatred” and once again quipped: “With friends like you, Spain needs no enemies”, accusing the Vox leader of fostering confrontation and divisions instead of contributing to political dialogue.
