Our editorial line is clear and unapologetic: we defend socioliberalism, the balance between individual freedom, social rights and institutional responsibility. We support a strong Welfare State, the consolidation of civil and social rights, and a dynamic economy in which private enterprise and individual initiative are driving forces of shared progress.

We believe in the 1978 Constitution as the democratic pillar of our coexistence. We defend it firmly, without falling into dogmatism, but also without allowing it to be distorted by sectarian or populist interests. We know that every Constitution must be able to adapt to changing times, always within the framework established by law and institutional respect.

We do not aspire to be impartial: we aspire to be honest. Because journalism is not neutral when it is confronted with lies, corruption or attacks on freedoms. And because equidistance in the face of facts is not objectivity, but cowardice.

Mission:

To report rigorously and in depth on Spain’s political, judicial and social current affairs, with special attention to Congress, the Senate, La Moncloa, the Government, the autonomous communities and municipalities, through original content, journalistic investigation, and both written and audiovisual formats.

We combat disinformation and populism from a socioliberal editorial line committed to defending the 1978 Constitution, democracy, freedoms and social rights. In addition, as a comprehensive media outlet, we offer innovative digital tools to connect citizens with institutions, fight fake news, access relevant data and foster social progress.

Vision:

To be Spain’s leading media outlet for its commitment to truth, independent analysis and public service. We aspire to go beyond the traditional concept of a newspaper, becoming a dynamic and useful platform that informs, verifies, listens and connects with citizens, thereby strengthening democracy and the rule of law in an increasingly digital and complex society.

Values:

  • Journalistic rigor: only facts matter. We are committed to verified, well-developed and original information, the result of the professional and ethical work of our journalists.

  • Democratic and constitutional commitment: we defend the 1978 Constitution as a framework for coexistence, freedom, rights and progress. We advocate for its evolution, when necessary, within respect for democratic procedures. The territorial diversity of a united Spain, as established by the Fundamental Law, is a core principle.

  • Fight against disinformation: we actively combat fake news and populist narratives that threaten democratic quality.

  • Pluralism: our socioliberal editorial line promotes a strong Welfare State, the consolidation of social rights, justice and fairness, while also defending private initiative and business as engines of development.

  • Public service and civic usefulness: our proposal goes beyond informing. Through services such as the citizen complaints portal, the news fact-checker, the job board, and open access to public and electoral data, we seek to empower readers and strengthen their connection to political and social reality.

  • Innovation and accessibility: we integrate technology and design to offer a modern, agile and accessible information experience for all audiences.

More than a newspaper

We were born in an era marked by the dizzying pace of information, polarization, disinformation and growing distrust toward traditional media. That is why this newspaper does not arise out of inertia or nostalgia, but out of necessity. Out of commitment. Out of conviction.

We believe in journalism as a public service, as an instrument of democratic oversight, as a meeting point between facts, rigorous analysis and citizens. We do not report to please, to satisfy or to fuel ideological trenches. We report to understand, to clarify and to build.

Our newsroom works with one non-negotiable premise: rigor above noise. It is committed to original, verified and carefully developed information produced with professional judgment. We practice data journalism, investigative reporting and close-to-home current affairs coverage. We will be every day where the decisions that affect everyone are made: Congress, the Senate, La Moncloa, the Courts, and regional and local institutions.

But we do not limit ourselves to telling the story. We want to listen.
