A man was arrested by the National Police on Holy Thursday afternoon in Cabra (Córdoba) after insulting and threatening to kill the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, when he was leaving the town hall of the municipality after signing the guest book.
According to sources close to the event, the individual lunged at the Andalusian leader uttering insults and expressions such as "we are going to kill you", which prompted the rapid intervention of the officers, who proceeded to arrest him.
The Andalusian president was in the town to learn about its Holy Week and visit different brotherhoods that perform a station of penance during Holy Thursday, a day on which he also attended the processional route of La Piedad.
According to the information published by ABC, the detainee —identified as M.A.V.— was a councilor for the PSOE in Cabra between 2003 and 2007. In addition, he was part of the socialist lists in the 2007 municipal elections, although on that occasion he did not obtain a seat. Currently, he is retired, according to the same sources.
