High-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia remains interrupted since Sunday, January 18, due to the derailment of a train traveling from Málaga to Puerta de Atocha. The accident occurred at the access switches to track 1 at the Adamuz station (Córdoba), where the train left the tracks and entered the adjacent one. Another train, traveling from Puerta de Atocha to Huelva, was using that second track and also derailed as a consequence of the incident, as reported by Adif through its official account on the social network X.
The LD AV Iryo 6189 Málaga - Pta de Atocha train derailed at the switches entering track 1 of Adamuz, invading the adjacent track. LD AV 2384 Pta. de Atocha - Huelva train was circulating on the adjacent track, which also derailed.
