The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has stated that for the moment "it cannot be confirmed" the number of victims after the derailment of two high-speed trains registered this Sunday in Adamuz (Córdoba). "The number of victims cannot be confirmed at this time. The most important thing now is to assist the victims," the minister stated in a message published on the social network X. In this regard, Puente has warned that "the latest information arriving is very serious."

As he explained, "the last units of the Iryo train heading towards Madrid derailed, with those carriages invading the opposite track on which a Renfe train was currently traveling towards Huelva. The impact was terrible, causing the first two units of the Renfe train to be thrown off as a result."

For his part, the leader of the Popular Party, **Alberto Núñez Feijóo**, indicated that this Sunday he spoke with the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, following the train accident and wanted to convey a message of support to those affected. "I have just spoken with Juanma Moreno to express our solidarity after the train accident in Córdoba," Feijóo stated on his X account. Likewise, Feijóo highlighted that "the emergency services are working with the utmost rigor to minimize the consequences as much as possible" and stressed that "that is what is important now." "All encouragement to those affected and their families in these moments of anguish," he concluded.

The accident has caused at least ten deaths, several injuries, and an undetermined number of people trapped, according to sources from the 112 Andalusia Emergency service. Firefighters, medical services, and the Civil Guard have been dispatched to the scene to deal with the emergency.

As confirmed by the Junta de Andalucía to 'ElConstitucional.es', the operation remains active on the ground, with continuous coordination from the control room and dynamic resource allocation according to developments. At this moment, the entire focus is on on-site assistance work: attending to victims, operational coordination, and support for the deployed teams. The medical team from Adamuz was the first to arrive and attend to the injured. The 061 from Bailén is already at the scene, as is the mobile team from Adamuz, and conventional ambulances have also arrived. The rest of the 061 units are currently joining.
