The president of the Alberto Núñez Feijóo has congratulated this Sunday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women's Day, all women with a message published on X in which he recognizes their contribution to society and underlines their role in building a better country.

In his publication, the leader of the Popular Party wanted to highlight the work and involvement of women in different fields. “On this International Women's Day, I want to recognize and thank the contribution of all women to our society. With their talent, effort, and commitment, they make Spain better every day. Happy 8M to all the women of our country”, he wrote on his X profile.

The message is accompanied by a video recorded during a visit to the Prado Museum, in which Feijóo highlights “the crucial role of women” both in the history and in the present of the art gallery.

During his speech, he recalls historical figures linked to the museum, such as María Isabel de Braganza, to whom he attributes the impulse to create the museum as a space open to the public, and Isabel de Farnesio, whose work as a collector and patron —as he points out— “magnified the royal collection that is exhibited today”. “Thanks to them, the Prado is today one of Spain's great presentation cards to the world”, states the president of the PP in the video.

Feijóo also highlights the work of the professionals who currently form part of the museum —curators, restorers, administrators or guards— and who make up close to 60% of the staff. "The present and future of the Prado also bears a woman's name," he adds.
