The secretary general of the PP, Miguel Tellado, stated this Sunday that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is the “great defeated” of the elections in Aragon, after the PSOE lost five seats compared to the 2023 May elections, in which its candidate, Pilar Alegría, ran for the first timeTellado highlighted the victory of the Popular Party in the community, which, as he stressed, has occurred with "forcefulness" and "clarity". However, he avoided making self-criticism for the setback of the Aragonese PP, which has gone from 28 to 26 deputies and maintains its dependence on Vox, a party that has doubled its representation to reach 14 seats.“The one who wins in democracy is the one who obtains more votes, and today the one who has emerged victorious from the polls is called Jorge Azcón and Partido Popular. And if there is a defeated one, it is the Socialist Party, and that defeated one has a name and surname: Pedro Sánchez,” declared Tellado at a press conference held at the national headquarters of the PP.The popular leader also lashed out at the PSOE for having presented Pilar Alegría as a candidate, whom he defined as "the spokesperson minister of lies and corruption". In his opinion, the electoral result represents "another defeat" for Sánchez, whom he described as "the biggest loser in Spanish politics", insisting that the PSOE emerges from these elections "very touched".
