The singer Miguel Poveda has revealed the discovery of an unpublished poem attributed to Federico García Lorca, located on the reverse of a manuscript of La raíz amarga which he acquired in an antique shop in Germany without knowing its complete content.

According to what the artist himself has explained, the document was initially bought without realizing that on its reverse it contained some handwritten lines that were later identified as a possible text by the Grenadian poet. The discovery came to light when, upon showing the manuscript to an acquaintance, the hidden annotations were detected.

The discovery has been validated by the philologist and Lorca specialist Pepa Merlo, with whom Poveda will soon publish a book in which this text is analyzed along with other unpublished materials related to the author's work. The volume will be part of a new cultural project linked to the dissemination of the Lorca legacy.

The found poem includes verses of an introspective tone, in which it reflects on time, absence, and identity, which has awakened the interest of the academic community:

"The clock sings
I mechanically count the hours
it's the same seven as twelve
I am not here
it's the flesh signal I left when I left
to know my place upon returning”

Poveda has pointed out that the manuscript showed signs of having been adhered to another support and has described the finding as an "exciting" moment, while the expert highlights that the text had gone unnoticed until now by being found on the reverse side of the main document.
