Filmin has added to its catalog exclusively the Belgian miniseries This is not a mysterious murder, a mystery fiction with a completely groundbreaking approach that combines the classic whodunit style with the artistic surrealism of the 1930s. The story, which received the second prize for Best Television Fiction at the prestigious Prix Europa 2025, places celebrated artists trapped in an English mansion where an iconic murder unleashes an unconventional investigation.

The plot begins when Lord James, an eccentric patron, gathers at his country estate influential figures of the surrealist movement, such as René Magritte, Man Ray and the young Salvador Dalí, played by the Catalan actor Iñaki Mur. The night takes a tragic turn when a corpse appears whose staging evokes emblematic artistic works, forcing those present to become both suspects and improvised investigators while a storm prevents them from leaving the place.

The series stands out for its bold visual tone and its mix of classic intrigue with the dreamlike elements typical of surrealism, paying homage to the structure of mystery novels like Agatha Christie but from a disruptive and playful logic. This is not a mysterious murder thus reinforces Filmin's commitment to original European fiction and offers viewers a unique experience where art and crime intertwine in a surprising way.
