La 1 has prepared a special night for Sunday, April 19 with the premiere of its new fiction series Barrio Esperanza, the social comedy set in a public school that will be starring Mariona Terés, along with Alejo Sauras, Ana Jara, Mariano Peña, Juan Vinuesa, Laura de la Uz, Guillermo Campra, Ángel Héctor, Carlos Librado “Nene” and Ruth Núñez, among others.
The series, produced by Globomedia in collaboration with RTVE, narrates the story of Esperanza, a woman who, after leaving prison, decides to rebuild her life by fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher in the neighborhood where she grew up. Upon her return, she will have to face the prejudices of the educational environment, her personal past, and the challenges of a school full of diverse realities.
Following the premiere, the channel will broadcast the new docuseries España de barrio, a format that explores different emblematic neighborhoods of the country with a first-person narration. The night will thus be completed with a double proposal that combines fiction and reality under the same common thread: life in the neighborhoods and their daily stories, from Carabanchel to La Barceloneta or the Albaicín.
