RTVE bets on a new format for prime time with El juicio, the program presented by José Luis Sastre that will arrive on Wednesday April 29 on La 2 after Cifras y Letras. It can also be followed through RTVE Play.
The space combines the spectacle of a trial with the analysis of current social issues. In each installment, two opposing positions will be defended by Ana Pardo de Vera and Montserrat Nebrera, while Ricardo Fernández Deu will act as judge.
The mechanics include evidence, witnesses, arguments and deliberations until reaching a final verdict, decided by a popular jury formed by nine citizens who represent the diversity of Spanish society.
In addition, the program incorporates reports and journalistic investigation to delve into topics such as healthcare, housing or racism, seeking to offer a more unhurried debate and away from the usual polarization.
With this format, RTVE reinforces its commitment to content that mixes entertainment and social analysis, leading the viewer to reflect and actively participate in each case.
