Telecinco has activated a genuine restructuring of its programming for the summer with the incorporation of new formats and the return of very recognized figures such as Carlos Lozano, Paz Padilla and Santi Acosta, in a clear attempt to reverse the current audience crisis that the Mediaset channel is dragging.
One of the main movements will be the premiere of Amor o lo que surja, a new dating show that will arrive on weekday afternoons and will be presented by Carlos Lozano, recovering the spirit of classic dating formats that have historically been key on the channel. This space will occupy the 3:45 PM slot and will be produced by Bulldog TV, with the aim of recovering the pull of old successes of the genre.
Next, the schedule will be reorganized with El tiempo justo, presented by Joaquín Prat, which will see its duration cut, followed by the new magazine De lunes a viernes, hosted by Santi Acosta y Beatriz Archidona, which will replace El diario de Jorge, the format by Jorge Javier Vázquez that will be paused during the summer. The contest Allá tú will remain on air after consolidating figures close to 10% share.
On the weekend slot, the big return will be that of Paz Padilla with El show de Paz, a new afternoon program that will combine reports, current affairs, and celebrity news starting at 4:00 PM. This move will cause adjustments in other formats, such as Fiesta, which will reduce its duration, and the replacement of Visto lo visto by the contest El precio justo.
With these changes, Telecinco seeks to curb its downward trend, after averaging a 9.2% share so far in May, with the aim of finding formulas that allow it to reconnect with the audience during the summer months.
