The sixth gala of Mask Singer left one of the most commented revelations of the season on Antena 3. The Pizza mask ended up unmasking itself and confirmed the suspicions of many viewers: behind the costume was Lydia Lozano, one of the most legendary collaborators of Spanish television. Her appearance also meant an unexpected return to Atresmedia more than twenty years after her time on the channel.
During the gala presented by Arturo Valls, Pizza performed Pedro, the iconic song by Raffaella Carrà, unleashing new theories among researchers and viewers. Ana Milán and Boris Izaguirre bet from the first moment on Lydia Lozano, while Roberto Brasero, guest investigator, launched the name of Penélope Cruz. Finally, after losing the duel against Clavel and Jirafa, the mask had to reveal its identity. “It’s one of the most fun things I’ve done in my life,” Lozano confessed with a laugh after taking off the costume.
The journalist also explained that she kept the secret even within her closest circle. “I told my husband I was recording a Lola Flores special for a platform,” she commented amused. Boris Izaguirre celebrated having guessed the name and Lydia replied jokingly: “Boris, how well you know the chuminero!”.
Lozano's reappearance on Antena 3 has also served to recall her time on the channel in the early 2000s, long before becoming one of Telecinco's inseparable faces. The collaborator participated in formats such as A plena luz, Confianza ciega or De buena mañana, in the midst of the explosion of celebrity gossip television in Spain. Years later, her signing for Sálvame on the Mediaset channel ended up consolidating a television career that now unexpectedly crosses paths again with Atresmedia thanks to the phenomenon of Mask Singer.
