The Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif) reported that the delays were caused by an attempted cable theft between Córdoba and Guadajoz, which temporarily interrupted the circulation of AVE trains connecting Madrid with various cities in Andalusia.
Repair work concluded around 1:00 PM, allowing for the progressive restoration of normal schedules. Adif recalled that, although these incidents are infrequent, they cause significant disruptions to the railway network and that specific protocols exist to minimize their impact and ensure passenger safety.
With the repair completed, the affected services resumed normal operation, although some trains registered accumulated delays that were corrected throughout the day
