The president of the PP-A and candidate for re-election in the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has affirmed this Saturday that it will be a leader of his party in the central Government who inaugurates the AVE between Almería and Murcia, given the accumulated delays for this infrastructure.
“They are not capable of doing it”, Moreno has pointed out in allusion to the socialists during an event at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería. In his speech, he recalled that with Mariano Rajoy at the head of the Executive there was a “timeline” to finish the works “in 2023”, although “the change arrived and it was paralyzed”.
The Andalusian leader has regretted that, according to the current pace, the infrastructure will not be finished neither this year nor “even for 2027”, since, according to technical calculations and planned investments, “it would not arrive until year 29”.
“That is what they have done, however they sell it to us”, Moreno added, who has criticized the management of the Ministry of Transport led by Óscar Puente. In contrast, he highlighted the period of the previous head of Fomento, Íñigo de la Serna, assuring that “the Minister of Fomento came to Almería every week and held a meeting and a press conference and reported on the progress of the AVE”.
Likewise, the popular leader has questioned the Government's investment in Andalusia in transport, energy, and hydraulic infrastructure, especially in support of farmers, who —as he has indicated— have suffered "the worst drought of the last 30 or 40 years" without counting on "any" action in this regard.
