The complaint filed in April by the Adelante Andalucía party against the national coordinator of Communication for Vox, Álvaro Zancajo, has been admitted by the Andalusian Anti-Fraud and Corruption Office, attached to the Andalusian Parliament. The spokesperson for the Andalusian formation, José Ignacio García, confirmed this during a press conference in the regional chamber. They filed the complaint because they considered that the journalist "did not comply with the incompatibility regulations" of the Board of Directors of the public Andalusian Radio and Television (RTVA), where he holds a position, while simultaneously coordinating Vox's communication at a national level as Santiago Abascal's right-hand man.

All of this comes to light amidst negotiations for positions in the Andalusian administration between PP and Vox. The issue is delicate, given that the relevant legislation is somewhat ambiguous and requires a detailed interpretation based on Zancajo's real situation within Vox. Pending the position of Antifraude, which Adelante hopes will rule in their favor, the Andalusianists attack the positions of Juanma Moreno's already minority partner. García stated that Vox "does not defend a quality public television that serves the Andalusian people, that takes good care of its workers," but rather "to take it easy from Canal Sur." It is scandalous for the fourth party in Parliament, given that Vox advocates for "the closure" of all regional channels to cut spending, so that they do not serve as regional propaganda entities.

At the time of filing the complaint, García recalled this Wednesday that this complaint is motivated by an evident "non-compliance" with Law 18/2007 of the RTVA and the incompatibility regulations for high-ranking officials of the Junta de Andalucía, from 2005, which applies to the Council. "This gentleman is a member of the RTVA Board of Directors, earns 60,000 euros a year for it, does not dedicate a minute of his time to that council, but rather works for Vox, which is illegal."

Despite the fact that there is no express prohibition against belonging to a political party or holding an internal position within it, given that many councilors are organic positions within the structure of the parties, and President Moreno himself is president of the Andalusian PP, in Adelante they see a clear incompatibility of remunerations from the party for Zancajo according to article 11.3 of the RTVA Council Regulations. "The exercise of the position must be carried out under a regime of absolute and exclusive dedication, being incompatible with any other public or private position, profession or activity."

As a differentiation from belonging to the structure of a party and a government position, Adelante emphasizes that belonging to that council and at the same time being directly linked to a political party, "can compromise the appearance of independence of the body and the trust of citizens in the integrity of the public entity." Adelante's complaint also comes after the Canal Sur Workers' Association demanded Zancajo's dismissal in March.

On this matter, Vox shows a strong defense of Zancajo. In May, the next vice president of the Junta, Gavira, assured that the coordinator and councilor complies with "all his obligations and duties." Vox, as Gavira pointed out, believes there is a campaign against the journalist due to "fear" of the role the party plays within institutions.
