The Ertzaintza has arrested this Friday a 45-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the death of his partner, a 44-year-old woman, which occurred last Wednesday in a home in Basauri (Biscay). The case is being investigated as an alleged crime of homicide of gender violence.
According to the Basque Department of Security, the death occurred initially after what appeared to be an "indisposition" of the victim. The health services dispatched to the home tried to revive her without success, without clear signs of criminality being initially observed.
However, the subsequent forensic analysis carried out in the following hours determined that the death could have been of a violent nature, which led to the opening of an investigation by the Basque autonomous police. From that moment on, the agents focused their inquiries on the victim's close environment.
As a result of the investigation, his romantic partner was arrested as the main suspect. The man remains accused of an alleged crime of homicide while the proceedings continue to fully clarify the circumstances of the death.
