The 'Carné 60 CyL' has expanded its network to reach 886 affiliated establishments and services in Castilla y León, almost double the number when the Junta launched this initiative last year. Around 370,000 people can now access discounts and promotions in shops, cultural activities, sports centers, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in the Community.
The identification is available to the 369,212 members of the 'Club de los 60' and allows them to find in a single space the leisure and active aging alternatives promoted by the regional Administration. The latest expansion has incorporated 152 accredited agencies to inform and manage the program's trips.
The offer is spread across numerous sectors. In addition to agencies, there are bookstores, opticians, dental clinics, hairdressers, parapharmacies, beauty centers, gyms, fashion stores, stationers, banking entities, automotive businesses, and establishments specialized in pets. Each company determines the specific advantages it offers to cardholders.
Discounts on travel, culture, sports, and health
One of the main changes linked to the card has been the extension of some benefits that previously started at 65 years of age and that now can be enjoyed from 60. The Junta has also promoted agreements with gyms to offer adapted activities and reduced prices, a formula that has been transferred to centers related to health and aesthetics.
Cardholders can access several museums for free, including the four regional ones: the Museum of Human Evolution, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Museum of Iron and Mining. In addition, there are discounts on exhibitions, accommodations, restaurants, and leisure proposals.
The regional Government presents this network as a tool to boost local commerce, especially in rural areas. Affiliated establishments appear for free in the official program directory and can promote their services among the almost 370,000 members of the 'Club de los 60'.
Who can apply for the 'Carné 60 CyL'
The card can be requested by anyone who has turned 60 and is registered in a municipality of Castilla y León. The application remains open throughout the year and can be submitted online, at the territorial Social Services management offices, or at the Junta's registration assistance offices.
People registered in Valladolid can also go to the central office of the 'Club de los 60'. To complete the process, it is required to prove identity and registration, although the Administration can check both data directly if the applicant grants their authorization.
The document is personal, non-transferable, and has indefinite validity. Those who still use the old 'Club de los 60' card can keep it until they receive the new card at their home address.
