Alfonso Fernández Mañueco presented this Saturday the composition of his new Government in Castilla y León, a result of the agreement reached between the Popular Party and Vox after the regional elections. The Executive will be made up of twelve members, including the president and two vice-presidents, and will have five new additions compared to the previous cabinet.

The main novelty is the entry of Vox into the regional Government with three new officials. Carlos Pollán will occupy the First Vice-Presidency and the Ministry of Deregulation, Family and Social Aid, while Joaquín Antonio Pino will lead Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment and Environmental Policy, and Alberto Díaz Pico will be in charge of Culture, Tourism and Sport.

On behalf of the PP, the new additions are Cristina Sanchidrián, who will assume the Ministry of Mobility, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, and María Pardo, who will take charge of Education. Both join an Executive in which profiles with previous experience in the regional administration predominate.

Mañueco has opted to keep several of his main collaborators. Carlos Fernández Carriedo will continue at the head of Economy and Finance and will continue to serve as spokesperson for the Junta, while Luis Miguel González Gago will repeat as Minister of the Presidency and Alejandro Vázquez will remain at the head of Health and Social Welfare.

One of the most notable movements affects Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones, who leaves Environment to assume the Ministry of Industry, Universities, Employment and Commerce. For her part, María González Corral leaves Agriculture to take charge of Environment and Energy.

The Second Vice-Presidency will remain in the hands of Isabel Blanco, who will maintain institutional rank and assume responsibilities in housing, spatial planning, equal opportunities, depopulation and civil protection, although without her own ministry.

With this new structure, the PP concentrates the four women present in the Executive, while Vox has designated only male profiles for its three positions. The new Government will take office this Monday and will mark the beginning of a new coalition stage between both formations in Castilla y León.
