The president of the Association The Patient's Advocate, Carmen Flores, has demanded accountability after the death of three oncology patients in Burgos due to a presumed incorrect administration of chemotherapy, a case that the organization describes as an "irresponsible mistake." According to what they have reported, the last deceased spent five months in the UCI without receiving adequate treatment, while the family, represented by the lawyer Santiago Díez, has requested an autopsy so that the facts can be investigated as a possible reckless homicide.
From the association, they have criticized the lack of responses from the health and political authorities, pointing out that so far no resignations have occurred nor have public explanations been offered to the affected families. Carmen Flores has questioned the management of these cases and has lamented the absence of institutional support, insisting that these are facts of extreme gravity within the health system.
The Patient Advocate has demanded swift action from justice to clarify what happened and determine possible responsibilities. The organization denounces a “monumental damage” to those affected and warns of the feeling of helplessness that, according to them, families suffer, considering that the magnitude of what happened has not been recognized after the errors in the administration of chemotherapy.
