Salvador Illa warned this Sunday that in Catalonia there are those who want to give lessons while, in his opinion, they attack pensions and policies to guarantee access to housing.

The president of the Generalitat launched this message after visiting the future National Reserve of Catalonia in Sant Fruitós de Bages (Barcelona), and has placed the debate at a clear point: the economic progress can continue, but without questioning the rights of those who sustain this engine.

Illa maintained that "Catalonia's engine is running" and demanded that those who make it work have access to housing. He also defended that those who already made it work "should not have their" dignified pension "disputed".

The president thus framed his warning against those who, according to him, want to give lessons in Catalonia while affecting two areas he considers central: housing and pensions.

Response to those who speak of a "dimmed" Catalonia

The president also responded to those who repeat that Catalonia is "dimmed". According to him, those who hold this idea "have been out of coverage for a long time," a way of downplaying the diagnosis of crisis attributed to the community.

At the close of his speech, Illa asked for respect and summarized his position with an insistent idea: Catalans do not need anyone to rescue them, but rather to let them do their work.
