The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, assures that he will fulfill his commitments regarding the Budgets and trusts that ERC will also do so, after the Govern withdrew the accounts this week by mutual agreement with the republicans.
In an interview published this Sunday in El Periódico, Illa defends that he has done “what he had to do” by withdrawing the project and positively values the understanding with ERC to reopen negotiations with a view to approving new accounts before the summer, in addition to bringing forward a credit supplement.
The head of the Catalan Executive underlines that his actions respond to the search for stability in the current international context and shows himself willing to give his partners leeway to advance in the agreement. “If some political formations, in this case ERC, ask me for more time, I am willing to give it to them. What we have to make clear is that there must be a budget, which is the agreement we have reached,” he states.
Likewise, it announces that the negotiation process will be launched immediately. “We will imminently open the negotiation process and listen to their proposals, with the aim that they are good budgets not for the parties, but for the citizens of Catalonia,” it adds.
About the collection of the IRPF, Illa stresses that he has fulfilled all the commitments acquired and that he will maintain that line also in this area.
