Since yesterday, six forest fires have been registered in Catalonia, on a day that was extremely complicated for extinction services due to high temperatures and minimal humidity, and due to the simultaneity of the fires, and this Thursday morning, the Generalitat firefighters have declared all fires stabilized.
In Barcelona, the fires of Navarcles, where 19 fire brigades are now working, have been stabilized, while in Sentmenat, extinction efforts continue with 37 units. In the Anoia region, there are still 8 vehicles in the area, and in Gavá there are 6 units. The fire declared last night in the nucleus of Pla de Manlleu, in Aiguamúrcia (Tarragona), where 25 units are working, has also been stabilized, and since this morning, the one in Guimerà, in the Urgell region (Lleida), where 13 units of the Generalitat Firefighters remain, and which was the last fire to be stabilized, whose alert was received at 8:48 p.m. yesterday, when a fire was declared in the Rabassoles area.
At 10:00 p.m. yesterday, the Navarcles fire was declared stabilized, which affected an industrial estate and a recycling industry, and for which some 9,000 people were confined. Also last night, the fire declared after 4:00 p.m. yesterday in the nucleus of Pla de Manlleu, in Aiguamúrcia (Tarragona), was declared stabilized. This Thursday, the Firefighters will review the perimeter, especially a slope in the upper part of the right flank that is difficult to access, the firefighters reported in a statement.
Shortly before declaring the fire stabilized, Civil Protection had lifted the confinement affecting some 1,600 residents of Pontons, les Pinedes Altes de Montmell, Pla de Manlleu and isolated houses in Aiguamúrcia and nearby areas. In addition, Civil Protection has lifted the confinements it had decreed for the fires in Sentmenat, Aiguamúrcia and Navarcles, which affected a total of about 11,000 people. The Minister of Interior of the Generalitat, Núria Parlon, warned yesterday that: "We will continue to have very high temperatures in the coming days and, therefore, we ask for much caution, much prudence and, above all, to avoid any daily activity that could cause a fire."
