The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will not authorize the presence of far-right activist Vito Quiles this Monday throughout the university campus, a decision that closes the door to the activity he intended to carry out on campus.
The institution responded to Quiles that he “does not have authorization” to hold that event, as detailed this Sunday in a statement. The refusal leaves the activist's presence on the university campus without coverage.
Interior receives the notice and promises to stop any attempt to access
The UAB conveyed that response to the Department of Interior of the Generalitat, to which it requested help to prevent, despite the non-authorization, “any situation of tension” from being generated on campus on Monday afternoon.
Interior, for its part, guaranteed the university that the activity “will not take place” and that it will prevent Vito Quiles from accessing the campus if he tries to enter. The institutional confirmation seeks to block any deployment linked to that event.
The university restricts movement to ordinary use of the premises
With this scenario, the UAB requested that this Monday only people who have planned usual university activities in the field of teaching and research should go to the campus.
The warning places the day under a slogan of containment: avoid movements that do not respond to the ordinary functioning of the campus, while the institution maintains its rejection of the announced activity.
