The fire occurred this Monday afternoon in a five-story building in Manlleu, in Barcelona. According to initial reports, the flames started in a storage room located on the rooftop that had been converted into a dwelling. For reasons still unknown, the people who were inside were unable to get out.
13 fire crews attended the scene, along with personnel from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) and agents from the Mossos d’Esquadra. Emergency services worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas of the building.
