The vice president of Ceuta maintains her concern and asks for solutions so that another migratory crisis does not happen again: "The fear exists"

After all that has been happening these last few days with the migratory crisis in Ceuta, the second vice-president of Ceuta and Minister of Finance, Economic Transition and Digital Transformation, Kissy Chandiramani, has asked for "solutions" to avoid a new episode of mass arrival of migrants through the border with Morocco, which has caused 72 deaths.

The vice-president has communicated that, "the fear exists, it is already the second time. It is clear that if Morocco wants, this will be repeated whenever they want," she affirmed in an interview this Tuesday on 'La mañana de Andalucía' on Canal Sur Radio where she echoed a possible new entry on August 15 "according to alerts in media and social networks." For this reason, she has emphasized the meeting of the Interior Ministers of the European Union this Tuesday to address the evolution of the migratory crisis in Ceuta. To celebrate the meeting, she has requested that solutions be addressed for what she has described as "an attack on territorial integrity."

"We believe that this situation should not remain as it is, because then we would be doomed to it being repeated every time there was any incident or any misunderstanding with the neighboring country," highlighted the vice-president. Following this line, she has appealed for "a change in border management. Europe has to assume control of the borders, that there be regulated and orderly migration so that these situations, which are humanitarian dramas, do not occur," she remarked.

It has not stopped here, Chandiramani has assured that the current situation in the autonomous city is "serious" with between 3,000 and 5,000 "still wandering the streets." "There are more people outside than inside the CETI," she pointed out. She continued, adding that, "we are talking about 7% of our population that has nowhere to receive that fundamental and necessary first attention for any person and to be able to give it with dignity."

Finally, regarding what happened last week, the vice-president pointed out that the City Assembly issued a statement on Thursday morning, July 30, after the arrival of 2,000 people in recent days. "We were warning that events were occurring that were not normal, that were not the ordinary ones of some swimmers who were coming," she concluded.
