Early this morning in Ceuta, a presumed aggression occurred, causing injuries to four soldiers in the Benzú area, in which a group of between 30 and 40 people ambushed them by throwing stones of a considerable size, according to Europa Press, from the Superior Police Headquarters. The incident ended with twelve Moroccan migrants arrested. It all happened around 5:30 a.m., when the Army personnel were heading to a surveillance point established in the Benzú area. Upon reaching said point, that's when several individuals came out and surrounded the vehicle in which the soldiers were.

This group of people began to throw stones at the soldiers' car, causing some damage. Given the danger of the situation, the soldiers inside the vehicle abandoned it and fled on foot to safety. During the escape, a chase ensued, which extended in the direction of Calamocarro. The personnel trying to escape continued to receive impacts from stones, suffering various injuries and contusions.

Finally, the soldiers managed to alert the emergency services by calling 112, which allowed the activation of a device in which agents of the National Police and the Civil Guard participated. After seeing the agents arrive and this device being formed, the alleged aggressors began their escape towards the Benzú area.

Given this situation, the security forces then initiated a search operation which ended successfully with the arrest of twelve people, all of them of Moroccan nationality. Some of the other people involved tried to escape by jumping into the sea, so the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard has been working, maintaining search efforts in the area. As for the injured soldiers, all four were later transferred to a health center to receive medical assistance for the injuries suffered during the aggression. The investigation has not yet finished, and work is still underway to identify and locate the rest of the participants in the attack.
