Justice has agreed to admit for processing the complaint filed by a former councilwoman of the Popular Party in Móstoles against the current mayor, Manuel Bautista, and the political formation itself. The decision is contained in a judicial resolution in which the magistrate considers that the reported facts present sufficient indications as to initiate a formal investigation in court.
Specifically, the judge considers that the facts could fit into several crimes, among them sexual harassment, workplace harassment, coercion, injuries, crimes against moral integrity and revelation of secrets. However, she emphasizes that neither the exact nature of the facts nor the people who might have intervened have yet been determined, so it is necessary to carry out preliminary proceedings to clarify what happened.
According to the complaint, filed last February, the former councilwoman claims to have suffered a situation of alleged harassment by the mayor. Before going to court, the complainant states that she tried to resolve the conflict through internal channels within the Popular Party, without obtaining an effective response.
