The Minister of Health and regional leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García, has announced this Saturday her intention to be a candidate in the 2027 regional elections so that “she leaves” the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and “her harmful policies”.
García has communicated it during the III edition of the La Madrileña street party, held in the auditorium of Paraíso park of San Blas-Canillejas, where she has been accompanied by Manuela Bergerot, Rita Maestre, Emilio Delgado and Eduardo Rubiño.
“I have learned that if you want to change things, you have to go to the root of the problems. If we want to change that root, we have to govern Madrid. After much thought, I have made a decision. If you accompany me, if you give me your support, I want to be the next president of the Community of Madrid. I want Ayuso and her harmful policies to leave,” she stated.
At the end of her speech, she pointed out that “she cannot hide” that Madrid runs “through her veins” and that her experience as a doctor and minister has taught her that “if you want to change things, you have to go to the root of the problems, roll up your sleeves and take charge”.
Likewise, he has defended the action of his formation by assuring: “We have promoted the Quirón law, we have shielded healthcare, we have expanded rights and we have opened the way. And we are going to continue doing it”, and has added that he wants “to take charge, that it is worth being active and doing politics” and “to fight against that Goliath that has done us so much harm”.
García has also emphasized his willingness to walk this path together with his team: “All together. We all need each other. Emilio, you are one of our greatest values. Edu, Rita, Manuela, Tesh, Alda, deputies, councilmen, councilwomen, militants. We all need each other”.
Finally, she has encouraged to “reconquer” the future “side by side with the whole team” and has shown herself convinced that “we can win and recover Madrid for its people”, asking “that we knock on every door, that we call on every neighborhood, that we call on every person” because “it is time to recover self-esteem and lost time”.
