The confrontation between Vicente Mompó and Diana Morant has escalated several degrees after the president of the Provincial Council of Valencia publicly responded to the minister's criticism of his actions during the DANA. The PP leader resorted to harsh disqualifications against the leader of the Valencian socialists, and Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain, whom he even called "Sánchez's ass-kisser".
The clash occurred after Morant questioned Mompó's actions during the emergency. The minister maintained that the president of the Provincial Council was aware of the preventive measures being adopted in the Cecopi and reproached him for having only informed the workers of the provincial corporation.
"Mompó knew about the preventive measures, but decided to only notify his inner circle. The rest of the Valencians, no," Morant wrote on social media, once again focusing on the management of the DANA and the role played by political leaders during those hours.
Mompó responds with insults to Morant
The response from the president of the Provincial Council was not long in coming and considerably raised the tone of the dispute. Mompó called Morant "Sánchez's ass-kisser" and added: "You're useless, plain and simple."
The popular leader also took the opportunity to reproach the minister for her actions during the emergency and made a direct reference to her presence alongside the President of the Government. "The sensible Valencians were trying to help. In contrast, you appeared two days later in Pedro Sánchez's helicopter, the one who said... 'if they want more resources, let them ask for them'," he stated.
Mompó went even further by questioning Morant's priorities during the tragedies suffered in the Valencian Community. "Everyone knows that in the tragedies we have suffered, you have been much more concerned about where the cameras are than about the affected people," he wrote.
Els valencians de trellat intentàvem ajudar. En canvi, tu aparegueres dos dies després en l’helicòpter en Pedro Sánchez, el de... "si quieren más recursos que los pidan".

The PSPV demands apologies
The words of the President of the Provincial Council have immediately provoked the reaction of Valencian socialist leaders. The PSPV spokesperson, José Muñoz, has condemned the tone used by Mompó and has demanded a rectification.
"I don't know if it disgusts me more for being sexist or for the aggressiveness of the comment. We demand immediate apologies," said Muñoz, thus joining the criticisms launched from the socialist ranks against the provincial leader.
The confrontation between both blocs once again places the political management of the DANA at the center of the partisan battle in the Valencian Community. To the criticisms about the decisions adopted during the emergency is now added a verbal escalation that leaves one of Mompó's most forceful responses against Morant since both have maintained their particular political pulse.
