Political and judicial news once again concentrates a good part of the new episode of Noticias de Verdad, the podcast from ElConstitucional.es that addresses the main news of the day with Hugo Pereira and Clara Cerrada, director and deputy director of ElConstitucional.es. On this occasion, the program focuses on the interview given by Pedro Sánchez on Mañaneros 360, the relationship with Morocco, the controversy surrounding the penthouse of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the case against Begoña Gómez and the serious attack suffered by a migrant family in Ceuta.

Sánchez defends his relationship with Morocco and announces the king's visit

One of the main topics of the episode is the interview that Pedro Sánchez has given on TVE, in which he has spoken about the migratory crisis and about Spain's relationship with Morocco.

The President of the Government has responded to criticism from the opposition, which questions whether Morocco is exerting any kind of pressure on the Executive, with a forceful statement: “The Government does not accept any blackmail”. Sánchez has thus defended the line of collaboration with the neighboring country as one of the axes of migratory policy.

During the interview, he also announced that the king's visit to Morocco will take place in the near future. The podcast analyzes the chosen moment for this trip and whether it comes late given the context generated by the migratory crisis.

Sánchez demands accountability from Ayuso for the controversial penthouse

Another of the issues addressed in Noticias de Verdad is the controversy related to the luxury penthouse in the Community of Madrid linked to Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

Sánchez has demanded that the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, demand accountability from the regional president. The president has also raised the tone by assuring that Ayuso “has been caught red-handed”. The controversy thus adds to the political tension between the Government and the Popular Party, while the property remains at the center of the debate.

Sánchez's position on Puente's criticism of the judge

The migratory crisis has also caused a confrontation over the actions of the judge investigating the case related to the events in Ceuta. Minister Óscar Puente has questioned the impartiality of the magistrate due to her political ties with the Popular Party. However, when asked about this issue, Sánchez has opted for a more diplomatic position and has refused to criticize the judge.

The episode also recalls that the publication on the website of La Moncloa of the 40 documents that include reports from the CNI and the Armed Forces, documentation that may provide new elements about the migratory crisis, is still pending.

The situation in Ceuta is presented as one of the issues that can mark a before and after in the legislature. In this context, ElConstitucional.es has already reported on the position of PNV and Podemos, who would take for granted a possible early election in early 2027.

Peinado faces a key decision before retiring

Judicial news occupies another of the program's major blocks. Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has taken the last step before deciding whether to open an oral trial by popular jury against Begoña Gómez, investigated for alleged crimes of influence peddling and embezzlement.

The preliminary hearing was held with the request for acquittal from both Gómez's defense and the Prosecutor's Office. Against them, the popular accusation led by the association Hazte Oír demands 13 years in prison. Now Peinado must make a decision on the future of the case. The calendar adds pressure to the procedure, as the magistrate is soon going on vacation and plans to formalize his retirement on September 27.

What can finally come of this whole procedure? This is one of the questions addressed during the new episode of Noticias de Verdad.

An eight-year-old boy, injured in an attack against a migrant family

The podcast also addresses one of the most sensitive issues of the day: the attack suffered by a migrant family in Ceuta. Several hooded individuals went to one of the migrant settlements and shot at a family using a pellet rifle. One of the projectiles hit Ali, an eight-year-old boy, causing a gash for which he had to be taken to the hospital.

The event once again brings to the table the impact of certain discourses on immigration. The program recalls the words of Vox deputy José María Figaredo, who had called to “hunt immigrants”. The episode thus raises the debate on how certain ultra discourses can end up permeating society and leading to episodes of violence against migrant people.

These are the main topics addressed in the new episode of Noticias de Verdad, the podcast from ElConstitucional.eswith Hugo Pereira, which reviews the political, judicial, and migratory news of the day from a data and information-centric perspective.
