UGT calls on left-wing parties to reach agreements and run together in the upcoming elections

Pepe Álvarez, general secretary of UGT, has asked the left-wing parties for a "final push" to face the elections united so that a part of the progressive vote is not lost. "I would like that before the deadline ends we have the maximum number of left-wing candidacies because that is the way for the Spanish Parliament to be as representative as possible," he assured.

Sumar does not understand Podemos's attitude in not wanting to sit down to negotiate unity agreements for the elections

Verónica Barbero, co-coordinator of Movimiento Sumar and spokesperson in Congress, has expressed her incomprehension at Podemos's attitude regarding the formation of a coalition to the left of the PSOE. In this vein, she has called on the party to join the Frente Amplio. "Let's meet, please. It's very difficult for me to speak through Twitter or through statements on social media," she assured in statements to the media.

Oskar Matute confirmed as the next spokesperson for EH Bildu in the Congress of Deputies

Given the absence of Mertxe Aizpurua, who will not participate in the general elections on 29N, Oskar Matute will be the next spokesperson for EH Bildu in the lower house of Congress. For their part, Mikel Otero and Josu Estarrona will lead the candidacies for the Congress of Deputies, while Araba-Álava will do the same for the Senate.

Compromís has offered Podemos the Alicante constituency, while the Valencianist coalition divides Valencia and Castellón.

In an eleventh-hour pact, Compromís has closed an agreement in the Valencian Community with Podemos for the elections on November 29. The purples will head the Alicante constituency, while Compromís will lead the lists for Valencia and Castellón. For her part, Àgueda Micó will occupy the first position for Valencia, while the second place will fall to parliamentarian Alberto Ibáñez.

Rufián on the left-wing pact: "We have failed. I would like there to be a real front"

Gabriel Rufián, spokesperson for Esquerra Republicana, has stated that a pact between left-wing formations, to the left of the PSOE, is almost impossible. "I have failed, we have failed. I would like there to be a real front, an understanding. I have done everything I could to simplify the electoral offer. I hope it happens, but it is very likely that it won't," he affirmed in an interview with Rac1 this Friday.

Frente Amplio celebrates the agreements reached in Aragon and the Balearic Islands and does not close the door to the incorporation of Podemos

The left-wing forces in the territory of the Canary Islands, Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista, Izquierda Unida and Movimiento Sumar, have decided to join the Frente Amplio for the elections on November 29. Chunta Aragonesista, Izquierda Unida, Movimiento Sumar, Partido Verde and Recortes Cero have done the same in Aragon, under the name of 'Chunta Aragonesista-Frente Amplio Aragón'. In the Balearic Islands, Ara MÉS has agreed to run under the name of 'Ara MÉS-Front Ampli'.

Podemos has not entered the equation. The Frente Amplio does not close the door to them and urges the party to join the coalition.

The left seals territorial alliances for 29N while Madrid remains the focus of tension

In the final stretch to register coalitions for the 29N elections, the alternative left advances with disparate agreements: a unitary alliance has been sealed in the Canary Islands, together with Nueva Canarias and Sumar, in the Balearic Islands without Podemos, and in Aragon under the Frente Amplio Aragón brand (also excluding the purples), while in the Valencian Community Esquerra Unida has rejected Compromís's proposal. In contrast, critical tensions persist in Madrid given the risk of fragmentation between Frente Amplio and Podemos, and in Catalonia, a separate list for the Comuns is emerging against Podemos's previous pact with ERC.
