Rayo Vallecano charges against Ayuso after losing the Vallecas concession due to "serious security deficiencies"

The conflict between the Community of Madrid and Rayo Vallecano has taken a new turn. The regional government has agreed to withdraw the administrative concession of the Vallecas stadium after an audit that detects "serious security deficiencies", a decision that will force the red-and-white team to play outside their stadium, at least, the first matchdays of LaLiga while works considered urgent are carried out.

According to the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the technical report concludes that the venue presents a "situation of generalized obsolescence" and a "severe regulatory non-compliance", to the point of compromising the safety and operability of the facilities. Among the incidents noted are hygienic-sanitary deficiencies, legionella risk, and an inappropriate use of spaces intended for catering as warehouses, with the consequent risk of fire.

The Community also assures that the club did not attend to the documentation requirements made by the Administration, which is why it has decided to extinguish the concession and immediately begin actions to rehabilitate the stadium. While the works last, Rayo must propose an alternative field for its home matches, a decision that has already been communicated to both LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The club's response was not long in coming. From Rayo Vallecano they have shown their "surprise" at the measure adopted by the regional Executive and have criticized the way the process has been managed, assuring that they are already working to try to reverse the situation and find a solution that allows the team to return to Vallecas as soon as possible.

The decision comes just weeks after the project promoted by the Ayuso Government to undertake a deep remodeling of the stadium through private investment and guarantee Rayo's continuity in the neighborhood became known. However, the rupture between both parties now seems total and opens a new institutional front that will mark the beginning of the season for the Madrid team.
