Next Monday, June 29, one of the most important tournaments in the world of tennis begins. It is the start of Wimbledon, a Grand Slam, held in London, characterized by its elegance and by being played on a grass surface. For many tennis players, it turns out to be one of the best stages to play tennis, as it is the most watched and followed Grand Slam in the world.

Therefore, no one wants to miss it, however, this year, unfortunately, there are quite a few withdrawals from the main draw of Wimbledon. This stretch of the season is very demanding for tennis players, as the ATP circuit calendar is somewhat tight, and too many tournaments are played in a short time. Without going any further, it hasn't even been a month since Roland Garros, the most demanding Grand Slam of all, ended. And not only that, but in between these two major tournaments, tennis players have to continue competing in multiple smaller caliber tournaments for their preparation. This generates injuries among tennis players, and in this Wimbledon of 2026, there have already been multiple withdrawals.

The most notable, of course, is that of the Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz. The Murcian has not played since April, due to a bothersome hand injury. This injury caused him to miss Roland Garros, and in May of last year, he announced that he would also not be at Wimbledon. Another quite significant withdrawal is that of Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian tennis player was in great form, reaching the top 10 of the ATP ranking, being one of the best in the world, however, after an injury that forced him to miss important tournaments, he has fallen to 15th place, and could fall further due to his absence from Wimbledon.

Other tennis players in the top 100 who will miss the third Grand Slam of the year are Sebastian Korda, a powerful American tennis player punished by his various injuries, and Holger Rune, the young Danish tennis player who has been injured all year and will also not make it to London. Another of the most notable withdrawals turns out to be that of Valentin Vacherot, who is having a great year, being in the top 20. In addition to these big names, the Czech, Thomas Machác, is added. The player has made a statement on his social networks announcing it: "The tear in my foot has not healed and I have to withdraw from Wimbledon."

These are the most marked absences, however there are many more players from inside and outside the top 100. And not only that, but there are also players who will be in the main draw but who arrive between cotton wool after recently recovering from other injuries such as Arthur Fils or Jack Draper, two of the best young players on the circuit.
