A new boat with about fifty migrants on board arrived this Saturday at the coast of Cartagena, just two days after another vessel reached Cala del Barco. On this occasion, the boat disembarked at Punta Negra cove.
The regional television has broadcast a video of the moment, which was also shared on social media by the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras. The images show the boat sailing at high speed before reaching the coast.
López Miras has described the new episode as "outrageous and inadmissible." "Boats with illegal immigrants continue to arrive in the Region of Murcia, given the absolute passivity of the Ministry and the Government Delegation," he stated.
Given this situation, the Murcian president has demanded "an urgent reinforcement of surveillance and control of our coasts" with the aim of "stopping this lack of control now."
