Jonathan Andic's call to 112 after the fatal fall of his father, Mango founder Isak Andic, has come to light. The audio recordings, released this Monday by the program 'El matí de Catalunya Ràdio', capture the anguish of the businessman, who, between sobs and visibly altered, desperately asked for help after the accident that occurred on December 14, 2024, on Montserrat mountain.
“My father has fallen down a ravine, please send someone, I can't see him,” Jonathan Andic said on the other end of the phone. “I don't know where he is, I need help, send an ambulance, send someone, please,” he insisted while trying to explain to emergency services that he was in the Collbató area, in Barcelona.
“I don't know where he is, he's not responding to me”
The first person to answer the call was a 112 operator, who asked him for details about the exact location where he was. Subsequently, he spoke with a firefighter from the Generalitat, who asked him if father and son were together.
“Yes, correct,” Jonathan Andic replied.
The conversation continued with a nurse from the Medical Emergency System (SEM), who informed him that rescue teams were already heading to the area and asked him to share his location via mobile phone.
“The problem is I don't know where he is, I can't see him, he's not responding to me,” the businessman's son lamented.
“Well, we'll look for him,” the healthcare worker replied, explaining that, due to the characteristics of the terrain, the teams would access the location by helicopter.
It was then that Jonathan Andic desperately shouted again: “Old man!”, the expression he usually used to address his father.
He tried to go down the ravine
Sources close to Jonathan Andic assure that throughout the call he expressed great concern about knowing his father's condition and locating him as soon as possible.
According to this version, the businessman even tried to lean over the ravine with the intention of going down to look for Isak Andic, an action that was discouraged both by two hikers who arrived shortly after the accident and by the SEM nurse herself during the phone conversation.
The same sources maintain that Jonathan Andic's behavior was that of a person in a state of shock after witnessing a traumatic event.
The investigation questions the first minutes
The dissemination of the audios comes weeks after Jonathan Andic's arrest by the Mossos d’Esquadra as a suspect in his father's homicide. The businessman was later released on charges after testifying before Martorell's Investigating Court number 5 and posting a bail of one million euros.
The police investigation focuses on the first minutes after the fall. According to the inquiries, Jonathan Andic made a first call to his father's partner four and a half minutes after the accident and did not contact 112 until three minutes later.
Those close to him reject the suspicions and consider that an attempt is being made to establish a "logical" and unique way of reacting to an extreme situation.
Seven calls to Emergency Services
The defense argues that Jonathan Andic maintained constant contact with emergency services during the hours following the accident.
According to them, he made up to seven calls to 112, of different durations, and also contacted his father's partner on several occasions until 1:23 p.m.
For his lawyers, the audios released this Monday reflect the state of nervousness, confusion, and anguish suffered by the businessman after Isak Andic's fatal fall and support the thesis that his reaction was typical of a person who had just experienced a traumatic episode.
The Prosecutor's Office opposes lifting precautionary measures
The publication of the recordings also coincides with the appeal filed by the defense to try to lift the precautionary measures imposed by the investigating judge.
However, the Prosecutor's Office has opposed the request and maintains that the withdrawal of the passport, the prohibition from leaving national territory, and weekly appearances in court must remain in force while the investigation into the death of the founder of Mango continues.
