The Aplec del Caragol de Lleida experienced its central day this Saturday with massive participation that was not slowed down by the high temperatures. Thousands of club members and visitors fill the Camps Elisis in an atmosphere of continuous party where music, brass bands and coexistence among clubs share prominence with the intense heat that has been felt all weekend.

Despite the sun and high temperatures, the venue has once again become a great social and gastronomic meeting point where activity does not stop. Umbrellas, caps, sunscreen and, above all, cold drinks have become essential allies to endure a day marked by the heat, especially during the central hours of midday.

The clubs have been adapting their rhythm to the meteorological conditions, with shaded areas, improvised fans and an organization that allows alternating cooking, eating and festive activities. The star dish is once again the snail in its multiple versions, especially a la llauna and a la gormanta, which are continuously prepared in the clubs' plots.

Tribute to Manolo Calpe and germanor meal

The day also included one of the most symbolic acts of the program: the floral offering to the statue of Manolo Calpe, promoter of the Aplec, in a tribute that is already part of the identity of the festival. Added to this act is the traditional germanor meal, one of the most anticipated moments by the clubs and which reinforces the convivial character of the event.

Throughout the day, the venue was filled with constant activity. From the first breakfasts to the multitudinous meals, the atmosphere has grown with the passing of the hours, especially in the bar areas, where the demand for cold drinks has been constant.

In the afternoon, the celebration continued with various parallel activities such as contests, gymkhanas and DJ sessions.

More than 16,000 club members and forecast of 200,000 visitors

In this 45th edition, the Aplec del Caragol brings together 124 clubs and nearly 16,850 club members, figures that consolidate the growth of the festival. The organization expects that throughout the weekend around 200,000 people will pass through the venue, turning Lleida into one of the great festive epicenters of the calendar.

The program includes more than a hundred activities distributed among the peñas and common spaces, in addition to initiatives to reinforce the external projection of the event, which aspires to become an International Tourist Interest Festival.

The security system, reinforced compared to previous editions, maintains the wristband system for peñistas and access controls during night hours for visitors, with the objective of guaranteeing coexistence and the good development of the festival.
