The ex-partner of former minister José Luis Ábalos, Claudia Montes, has declared before the Supreme Court that she never received any direct communication confirming that her access to the public company Logirail was due to an intervention by the former socialist leader. “He never told me: Claudia, I got you this job,” she stated emphatically during her appearance.

During his intervention, Montes acknowledged that he does not know if there could have been movements “behind the scenes” to favor his access to the position, although he stressed that neither Ábalos nor his then advisor communicated anything to him about it.

Montes testified on the second day of the trial in which Koldo García and businessman Víctor de Aldama are also implicated, within the framework of the investigation for alleged irregularities in the purchase of sanitary material during the covid-19 pandemic.
