The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, intensified his criticism against Pedro Sánchez this Tuesday. In an interview on Telecinco, the leader of Vox went so far as to describe the President of the Government as "the head of the criminal network" and completely ruled out that he could have been unaware of the judicial investigations affecting former PSOE officials and people close to him. In his opinion, it is "impossible" that he was not aware.

But Abascal went further and openly questioned Sánchez's state to continue governing. "He is not well, he is not balanced," he declared, adding that "it is not normal for a person in these circumstances to want to stay in power at all costs." Likewise, he affirmed that Sánchez "wants power at any price."

Rejects a subordinate role to the PP

The leader of Vox referred to the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, after the latter reiterated his intention to govern alone if he wins the next general elections. The leader of Vox ruled out occupying a vice-presidency in a hypothetical Executive headed by the PP. "I don't see myself as vice president because I am running for president," he affirmed, while insisting that his party runs in elections "to win them," although he assured that he will respect the result decided by the polls.

During the interview, he also pointed out that he maintains a good personal relationship with Feijóo, and has claimed the usefulness of the regional agreements signed with the Popular Party, assuring that they will remain in force as long as the commitments assumed by both parties are respected. Otherwise, he warned that Vox will abandon those governments.

Reproaches to Trump for his attacks on Meloni

Abascal has also questioned the president of the United States, Donald Trump, for the disqualifications directed at the Italian prime minister, Giorgia Meloni. "I believe Mr. Trump is making a mistake," he affirmed, defending Meloni as "a friend and ally" and asking that allied countries treat each other "as allies and not as vassals."
