This same Wednesday morning, June 8, the deputy secretary of Organization and Territorial Coordination of the PSOE, Elisa Garrido, criticized the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, after his words calling "cancer" absenteeism, saying that "the only measure of the popular is the cut."
Garrido also criticized him for lumping together different situations such as sick leave, work leave, and the situation of absenteeism. She also pointed out that Feijóo also proposed this week to approve a law of the conceived unborn so that pregnant women can receive aid during gestation and at the same time this proposal on absenteeism. "He is going to protect the embryo, but if that same woman has a leave for a high-risk pregnancy, Feijóo says that is a cancer and her salary must be lowered," Garrido highlighted.
In her opinion, it is the same old story that the PP defends, "that for companies to do well, workers' rights must be cut," Elisa concluded, not without first asking for a serious debate on absenteeism and dedicating more resources to public health to better serve citizens.
