EH Bildu and ERC have decided to re-establish their coalition for the November 29 election and will run together again, arguing that the accumulation of forces is the way to defend the rights of Euskal Herria and Catalunya.
The abertzale formation and Esquerra Republicana already ran together in the 2023 Senate elections, and now they are reviving that formula after positively evaluating the collaboration developed in the Upper House during recent legislatures.
In a statement, EH Bildu maintains that the union of forces "has borne fruit" and emphasizes that, "together," the two organizations are "stronger." The political message is clear, although that statement alone does not prove a concrete result and is limited to the assessment made by both formations.
The two sovereignist lefts place their bet on the need to confront a potential government of the reactionary bloc in the State. That is why they insist that on November 29 "there is a game" and that the contest can be won if wills are added and shared interests are prioritized.
Housing, social rights, and the capacity to decide, at the center of the agreement
EH Bildu and ERC place the housing emergency among the main problems of Euskal Herria and Catalunya, and commit to doing "everything in their power" to defend the right to housing and those who suffer its consequences.
They also frame the coalition in a broader defense of the freedom of their nations and the expansion of citizens' rights. In this vein, they affirm that the current situation demands "a broad perspective" to build an alternative that places the needs of the population at its center.
The final word will be at the ballot box, when on November 29 citizens can support this alliance and a shared project in defense of Euskal Herria and Catalunya and their social majorities.
