The investigation into the 'Leire case' continues its course this Wednesday with the declaration before the judge of a Civil Guard collaborator, who has assured that Leire Díez asked him for help in the name of the "one" in reference, according to his testimony, to the President of the Government Pedro Sánchez. The witness explained that he did not know who Díez was when she contacted him, so he asked Koldo García, who would have told him that she was a person linked to the Socialist Party, who had no position but a lot of power, who worked with Santos Cerdán and could have access to Sánchez.

During his appearance, the collaborator also admitted that Díez had asked him for a meeting with the commander, and that this was organized in a bar in Leganés by him, after consulting the request with the former ministerial advisor Koldo. According to him, Díez wanted said meeting to take place in the office of the lawyer Jacobo Teijelo, also investigated in the case.

According to his statement, Leire's intention was for Teijelo to defend Villalba for free, and in exchange, he could give her information about the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard and the commander of this unit Antonio Balas, with the aim of discrediting them. Likewise, the witness has defended having warned Villalba about the illicit nature of Díez's request and has added that the meeting was recorded using a device installed by a team of six people unrelated to the Civil Guard, but that the audio obtained was not intelligible.

The collaborator has also stated that during the meeting, Commander Rubén Villalba introduced the possibility of a posting in Rome, which, he pointed out, was a strategy that sought to verify if the former socialist militant was moving contacts or carrying out any management related to that supposed transfer. Furthermore, he affirmed that Díez had assured that she would be the one to designate the new DAO, as she considered that the then head of the position "didn't have the balls."
