The former shareholder of the company investigated in the Plus Ultra case, Sergio Sánchez, has defended in his appearance in the Senate that his role in Análisis Relevante S.L. was merely specific and technical. During his intervention in the so-called Koldo commission, the appearing party assured that he “never” held any position in the company, despite having owned 25% of the shareholding.

Sánchez explained that his relationship with the company was limited to the preparation of open-source reports, for which he received a total of 18,000 gross euros over several years. According to what he detailed, these works were occasional assignments that were carried out at the request of the agency What the Fab, responsible for the layout of said documents.

During his intervention, the appearing party chose not to answer the senators' questions, alleging that he wanted to avoid his words being used in the political debate. This decision was criticized by the Presidency of the commission, controlled by the Popular Party, which reproached him for his refusal to submit to the parliamentary interrogation.

Sánchez also explained that he met in November 2019 Julio Martínez, sole administrator of the company and linked to the circle of former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. According to his version, Martínez assumed “full powers” from the creation of the company until its dissolution, while he limited himself to a minority stake for which he invested 1,000 euros, an amount he ended up losing.

Likewise, the former partner stressed that “at no time” was he informed of the identity of the company's clients and that it was ruled out from the beginning to work with companies with which he had a professional relationship. He also specified that his collaboration with Análisis Relevante was prior to his rejoining Telefónica in 2025, insisting that he appeared before the commission as a “private citizen” and without representing any entity.
