A judge has sentenced **Francisco Zugasti and José Luis Rodríguez**, two far-right activists, for threats against **Pablo Iglesias** in the corridors of the Madrid courts, when the former Deputy Prime Minister and his partner, **Irene Montero**, were involved in a months-long harassment case at their home with three children aged 1 and 2 years

After taking statements from the former vice president, the accused, and the witnesses, the prosecutor requested financial penalties for both and a restraining order for Francisco Zugasti, a neighbor of Iglesias who had already participated in prolonged harassment since 2020. This Thursday, January 22, the sentence was announced: both will have to pay financial penalties, but the judge did not consider the restraining order requested by the prosecution necessary.

The threats occurred during the trial against Frontera and, in principle, did not seem to be related to each other. With **José Luis Rodríguez**, the events happened while Iglesias and Montero were inside the courthouse. As was seen in videos published on social media, the accused, in a violent attitude, told the director of Canal Red: **"I want to see you alone."**Meanwhile, the threats from **Francisco Zugasti** denounced by Iglesias occurred **in the courthouse hallways**. There, the second defendant told Iglesias, who was accompanied by Montero, that **if he touched his car again, he would face the consequences**. This version was confirmed by one of the building's security guards who testified at the trial
